Q&A With Adam Jason
1. Where are we talking from today?
A.We are and have chat via telephone and via email thus far.
2. How is 2018 treating you so far?
A. 2018 came in like a heard of buffalo. I had a decent amount of shows lined up and I had just released my new record: In The City Of Lovers as the year progressed I started to record a new album which I intend on releasing towards the end of the year.
3. How did you get involved in music?
A. I started playing music when I was in third grade in the school band. I played clarinet and saxophone till I was 12 or so then I began to take interest in guitar. Once I started playing guitar, I never turned back.
4. When did you make music a priority?
A. When I realized that music is what makes me happy and what I want to do for the rest of my life. Music is a release for and of my inner self and being, a getaway if you will sometimes letting me have head peace and mind.
5. What inspires you daily to write & record music?
A. Life around me, people in my life, my feelings and thoughts of what's going on around all of us in the world. Love inspires me, and all the delicacies and complications that come with it. All the beauty in the world makes for a great muse and unfortunately some of the not so quality things in life too plays a toll in the music. Adversities happen to everyone and music helps me vent and get through my own and cope with other things that go on in the world too.
6. Name 1-2 highly influential musicians that you listen to & respect?
A. Brandon Boyd the singer of the band Incubus, and Frank Sinatra.
7. When it comes to how the music enthusiast listens to your album do you prefer they buy or stream and why?
A. On my website: www.AdamJasonMusic.com I host all of my records, they are all available for free to stream and or download. I feel that I want to get my art and music out to anyone interested in listening to it. Money is not my main objective with music. Granted it is apart of the industry so it certainly plays a part, however I try not to let that guide me in my endeavors. If my music brings lucrative advancements I certainly welcome the notion.
8. Do you have an album/EP out now that readers should check out or are you about releasing singles?
A. I recently as I mentioned earlier released a new album: In The City Of Lovers, it is available on my website.
9. Music wise, what are you working on?
A. I have been playing some regional and local shows promoting my new album and also I have started recording a new record, I am roughly half way through. I've been trying a couple of new methods on the new album, and also using a different angle/ approach with how I write some of the songs.
10. Do you have any plans to tour?
A. Yes, eventually again I want to tour, I toured a few years in a row for months at a time a couple years ago which I enjoyed to the max. Despite the hard work that goes into touring it still is always life changing in some many amazing ways. And fun too at that!
11. When you are not making music what else do you enjoy to do?
A. I love to be active, swimming and hiking are big on my list. I do paintings and ink drawings as well.
I listen to a lot of old music to learn the roots of how rock n roll has evolved and how musicians in general throughout history have changed and evolved as well. New music as well to keep up with the present.
